Jonathan Miller, a high school sophomore, faces murder charges as an adult in the Nov. 2 school bus stop beating of 13-year-old Josh Belluardo. Neighbors and school officials said Jonathan has a “history” of cursing teachers, intimidating other children and making threats.
… Witnesses said Jonathan had been picking on Josh since school started. He had called Josh names and thrown objects at the younger boy. Before the bus stopped near their homes the afternoon of Nov. 2, children overheard Jonathan discuss whether he should hit Josh from behind or from the front.
Josh was struck in the back of the head, kicked in the stomach and hit above the right eyebrow as he sat dazed on the ground seconds after he stepped off the school bus and began walking home. He lay in a coma for two days before his family disconnected him from life-support machines.
… Prosecutor Rachelle Carnesale called 14 witnesses to support her contention that Jonathan should remain in custody. The first, 16-year-old Travis Swett, said Jonathan hit him in the back of the head after they got off the school bus about a year before Josh was attacked.
Travis also was on the bus the day Josh was assaulted. He said Jonathan called Josh a “bitch” and a “faggot” and decided with friends that he would hit Josh from behind after they got off the bus
Another 16-year-old on the bus the day Josh was attacked testified that Jonathan often picked on Josh. Kristen Raymond said she heard Jonathan say that Josh was gay and that “gay people deserve to die.”

Islam wishes to crush the West, and sticking your head in the sand and declaring it isn't so will not make them go away. Do you not believe them when people like Khomeini or Amadinejad or any other Islamic leader (religious or political) proclaims that it is their desire to destroy the West? I am sure that if you were alive a few generations ago you would have been saying the same thing about Hitler, Napoleon, and so forth. Stay in Iraq forever? I think we need to stay in the Middle East indefinitely. Kruschev was right when he said he would bury us - it is still being accomplished through Marxist minds like yours.

You believe that the United States is engaged in a "holy war" against Islam, right? You think that "Islam" wishes to destroy us, and so in our self defense, we must destroy Islam.. Am I getting that right?
So - this little tit-for-tat exchange in Afghanistan and Iraq really isn't doing much because what needs to be done is wholesale slaughter, right?
For example, Doug at political pistachio keeps asking for a change to the "rules of engagement". He doesn't actually state what that means, or what "rules" need to be changed, but the implication is clear. More killing needs to be done.
I'd like to know if that's your view. Does the United States need to destroy Islam in order to be "safe"?
Of course, the problem in asking that question is that the particular right wing loon it's presented to knows that saying "yes, we need to kill a billion Muslims" is not very politically correct. They know they will be perceived as rather crazy. However, that does not change the fact that it's actually what they believe. Most, like Doug and possibly yourself, are too cowardly to admit that's actually what they believe, but they come really close to saying exactly that in their writings.
So what is it? Kill all the Muslims.. or... kill just a handful.. or.. what? You've stated the problem.. but not the solution.
You know, that is a typical "absolute" answer from the left, but I'll play along. In WWII it was not our goal to slaughter every Nazi, only to weaken the enemy to the point that they were forced to surrender and could no longer spread their terror. To this day we still have bases in Germany. We haven't left, even though they have become our eventual ally. Islam will be much more difficult of an enemy to disarm because it is a religiously driven ideology - but the leaders and the loudest ones are who fuels this. There will always be radical groups, so we will probably be putting out spot fires for a very long time, but we have to fight them now while they are in a frenzy. Did you know that certain terrorist groups are already calling it a victory in Iraq (including Qaddafi in Libya) because the Democrats are calling for withdrawal? And the common sense response of an enemy who has proven they will not be reasoned with and are determined to take down the West is to regroup and hit us again, even harder. Should we kill all Muslims? No, not because it isn't Politically Correct, PC bullshit can kiss my ass - but because all Muslims are not the problem - All Muslims don't subscribe to this insanity - but I do believe we need to kill more of the enemy, otherwise, they will begin killing us. In Vietnam a North Vietnamese General (can't recall his name right now) proclaimed that all they needed to do is keep killing the Americans until eventually they got tired of dying, then they'd go away. They were right, we left, and then the wholesale slaughter of anyone that supported Democracy ensued. The difference here in the Middle East is that when we leave, they will follow us home.
